Jewish Approaches to Contemporary Ethics

Yesod is delighted to be partnering with the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning to launch a new course on Jewish Approaches to Contemporary Ethics, for Jewish community professionals and educators in Europe. Join this unique opportunity to reflect upon today’s most challenging ethical issues by learning and analysing classic and contemporary Jewish texts and participating in a lively virtual Beit-Midrash forum facilitating discussion and debate. It is a course that will inform and empower participants, and provide an opportunity to learn from each other.

In our six-session course, the topics to be explored will include:

The learning will include text study and discussion. Materials will be distributed in advance of the class, and everything will be translated into English. No experience with Jewish learning is necessary.

How and When?

This online course will take place in six 75-minute sessions from January – April 2019 on:

January 30th, February 13th, February 27th, March 13th, March 27th , April 10th

All sessions will start at 13:00 CET

We will use the zoom platform, so you need a computer, internet access, and a camera (so we can see you).

The sessions will be recorded so if you miss one you can catch up.

Rabbi Johnny Solomon, a dynamic and experienced Jewish educator will be teaching the course.

Rav Johnny Solomon is a British-born Jewish educator who was previously the Head of Judaic Studies at Immanuel College and Hasmonean Girls’ School. He now lives in Israel where he teaches in post high school seminaries while also working as an independent Jewish Education Consultant.

How much?
