Ma’ayan

Your source for European Jewish Speakers

Welcome to Ma’ayan!

Yesod Europe and our partners want Jewish organizations to have access to high-quality Jewish education by and for Europeans. This is part of our wider effort to develop educators able to engage in different styles and languages, and for different audiences.

Ma’ayan is Hebrew for well or spring. Just as people go to the well for water so we hope that you will use this service as the source for Jewish speakers for your organization.

Join Ma’ayan

Joining Ma’ayan is by invitation only. If you are interested in joining, please contact Yesod on info@yesodeurope.eu to explore your eligibility. Please note that Ma’ayan is currently only accepting profile forms from people resident in a mainland European country or from mainland Europe living in the UK.

Request information about Jewish speakers

Organisations wishing to deliver sessions of any kind that enable their members, staff or interested audiences to engage with new Jewish content as learners are invited to contact Yesod Europe at info@yesodeurope.eu for a conversation about your needs. Jewish content may be Jewish text study, culture, history, politics and more. We will ask you questions about the style of learning you are looking for, topic focus, type of audience, and language needs.

Organisations may include, but are not limited to, representative community organizations, Jewish Community Centres, synagogues, summer/winter camps, youth movements, Jewish schools or kindergartens.

While Yesod Europe will make recommendations, each requesting organisation will be required to undertake their own due diligence before hiring an educator / speaker. Yesod Europe will not hold responsibility for hiring decisions or the performance of any subsequent agreement between the organisation and educator. Nor will Yesod Europe be responsible for their data protection and privacy policies. Any payments and logistics will be agreed and organised between the educator and hiring organisation, not Yesod Europe.

Yesod Europe is committed to opposing harassment and abuse of any sort and expects speakers and organisations engaging with Ma’ayan to behave ethically. Harassment or abuse committed virtually or in person will not be tolerated.

Thank you to our partners JDC, Educating for Impact (EFI), the European Union for Jewish Students (EUJS), Junction, Limmud and Moishe House.
